How to make Moong Dal Idli with Cheese | मूंग दाल इडली विथ चीज़ | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

So if you're thinking of treating yourself to something a little different, this dish is a delicious way to switch things up. 😇😇 MOONG DAL IDLI WITH CHEESE Ingredients 1 cup split skinless green gram (dhuli moong dal), washed, soaked for 3-4 hours and drained 1 cup split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal), washed, soaked for 3-4 hours and drained 50 grams Milky Mist Cheddar Cheese Salt to taste 1½ tbsps ginger-green chilli paste A pinch of asafoetida (hing) Oil for greasing Gun powder (idli podi) for sprinkling Red chilli powder for sprinkling Melted butter for drizzling Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish Coconut chutney to serve Method 1. To make the batter, put the soaked moong dal into a blender jar. Add soaked urad dal and add ½ cup water and blend to a fine paste. Transfer this into a large bowl, cover and set it aside to ferment for 6-8 hours at room temperature. 2. Finely chop Milky Mist Cheddar Cheese and transfer into a bowl. 3. Add salt, ginger-green chilli paste and asafoetida into the fermented batter and mix well. 4. Heat sufficient water in a steamer. 5. Grease each cavity of the idli moulds with a little oil. Add a portion of the batter into each cavity. Sprinkle a few pieces of chopped Milky Mist Cheddar Cheese in the centre. Pour another small portion of the batter to cover the cheese pieces. 6. Place the idli mould into the steamer and steam for 15 minutes. 7. De-mould the idlis on a plate, sprinkle gun powder, red chilli powder and drizzle melted butter on top. Garnish with coriander leaves. 8. Serve hot with coconut chutney or the accompaniment of your choice.
