The bamboo shoots add a unique touch and perfectly complement the succulent chicken, offering you an authentic #NorthEastKaSwaad. 😇👌 CHICKEN WITH BAMBOO SHOOT Ingredients 750 grams chicken, cut into 2 inch pieces on the bone 100 grams tinned bamboo shoots 2-3 tbsps mustard oil 1 large onion, sliced 1 tbsp crushed dried red chilli-garlic 1 medium tomato, chopped 1 dried Bhoot Jolokia chilli, stemmed and broken into pieces Salt to taste Fresh coriander sprig for garnish Method 1. Thickly slice the bamboo shoots. 2. Heat mustard oil in a deep pan. Add onion and sauté till onions turn golden brown. 3. Add crushed red chilli-garlic mixture and sauté for a minute. 4. Add tomato and cook till pulpy. 5. Add chicken and sear on high heat for 4-5 minutes. 6. Add 1½ cups water, Bhoot Jolokia chilli, salt and bamboo shoots and mix well. 7. Cover and cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes 8. Transfer in a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
