A dessert fit for royalty! This kesar, coconut, and nut-filled halwa is the ultimate sweet indulgence! COCONUT HALWA Ingredients 1 large fresh coconut, halved 100 grams mawa/khoya 8 cashew nuts 6-8 pistachios 6-8 almonds 1½ tbsps ghee 1 cup milk A large pinch of saffron ¼ tsp green cardamom powder ¾ cup sugar Method 1. Scrape the coconut and transfer it in a bowl. 2. Grate mawa and transfer it in a bowl. 3. Chop cashew nuts, pistachios and almonds. 4. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add scrapped coconut and sauté for 2 minutes. 5. Add the grated mawa, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. 6. Add milk, saffron, and green cardamom powder and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. 7. Add sugar and mix. Add salt, mix and cook for 3-4 minutes. 8. Add half of the chopped cashew nuts, pistachios and almonds. Cook for a minute. 9. Serve hot garnished with remaining chopped nuts.
