Today we’re bringing you the classic 'Moong Pattice', a recipe that proves wholesome food can be irresistibly delicious. 😍 This crispy delight is made with simple ingredients and a flavourful mix of Indian spices. Every bite brings back memories of home, chai, and those cosy moments spent enjoying homemade snacks. If this reminds you of your favourite comfort food, then don’t forget to comment “Moong Magic!” 💛 MOONG PATTICE Ingredients 1 cup sprouted green gram (ankurit moong) ½ tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste 3 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed 2 tsps ginger- green chilli paste 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs 2 tbsps oil + for greasing and shallow frying 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 green chillies, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 1½ tbsps ginger- garlic paste 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp garam masala powder 1 tsp coriander powder 2-3 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves Cornflour slurry as required Dried breadcrumbs for coating Tomato ketchup for serving Method 1. Heat a pressure cooker. Add sprouted green gram, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups water and mix well. Close the lid and cook on high heat till the pressure is released once. 2. Open the lid once the pressure settles completely. 3. Take boiled potatoes in a bowl. Add ginger- green chilli paste, salt and fresh breadcrumbs and mix well. 4. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a shallow nonstick pan. Add cumin seeds and once they start to change the colour, add green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds. 5. Add onion and sauté till golden brown. Add ginger- garlic paste and sauté for a minute. 6. Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, remaining turmeric powder and salt and mix well. 7. Drain the boiled green gram and add to the pan. Add coriander and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the mixture in a bowl and allow to cool. 8. Grease your palms with oil, take a portion of potato mixture and roll into ball. Make cavity in the centre and stuff the green gram mixture. Gather the edges and seal properly. 9. Dip in cornflour slurry and roll in dried breadcrumbs. 10. Heat sufficient oil in a shallow pan and shallow fry the moong pattice till golden brown and crisp on both the sides. 11. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
